Hand-picked on 29th March 2022 from two thirds 114 Dijon clone and one third 777 clone. The 777 clone is a lighter and more perfumed Pinot Noir clone than 114 (a great all-rounder), which adds complexity and sophistication to this wine with the more muscular 114 from the 2022 vintage.
The cooler year lead to more traditional winemaking techniques with all fruit destemmed prior to fermentation. The wine was aged for 9 months again in older French oak barriques, with older oak better to preserve the purity of the fruit. A great vintage where the elegance and completeness of this wine was equally a product of nature and a combination of Pinot Noir clones as it was winemaking finesse. Cellaring for up to 5 years will be rewarded.
Perfect with duck, ragout, mushroom dishes, blue cheese, brie, or even pizza.
